Mitologia como Estratégia Didático-Metodológica: um caminho a partir de Schelling

Abstract

Thinkers of the so-called Science of Mythology have striven to interpret what they termed the symbolic structures of mythical narratives. During the 19th century, the dominant perspective on the understanding of mythical narratives was condemnatory and even repulsive due to the irrational nature attributed to them, characterizing them as puerile and pathological. Friedrich W. Schelling (1775-1854) was one of these thinkers who inaugurated a new way of thinking about myth and its relationship to the various societies that produced it, even against the grain of the century of Enlightenment and scientific. This dissertation aims to investigate how Schelling's Philosophy of Mythology can provide didactic and methodological support for teaching philosophy. In his studies, Schelling formulates his Philosophy of Mythology, outlining, through a historical-philosophical construction of mythical discourse, fertile ground for understanding the intersection between aesthetics and ethics, especially when associated with the profound resonance of origin myths. A brief look at the mythological perspectives of some Hellenistic scholars and the relevance of these studies for our current times has allowed us to use mythology as a methodological teaching strategy. Considering a possible fusion of horizons, valuing the cultural expression found in myths, which are not restricted to Greek mythology, we will emphasize cultural identity, suggesting the construction of a didactic sequence that reverberates the importance of Amazonian legends, which are cultural legacies of the living imagination and, therefore, are present in the daily lives and imaginations of the peoples of the Amazon.
